De Facto Math Expert

A picture text between me and an AP student while I was away at a conference. The math never stops.

It happened again today.  I turned on my phone after school and there was a message waiting for me from one of my high school (HIGH SCHOOL) friends.  [FYI — I spend all day in high school as a teacher but high school for me as a student was back in the days before graphing calculators.]  This high school friend needed math advice for one of her children.  Somehow I am the expert on all things mathy for my non-math friends.  It made me remember a piece I wrote a few years back, which still resonates today.  You can find my piece by clicking the link below.  http://www.admissionsquest.com/onboardingschools/2011/03/developing-a-love-of-math-in-younger-students.html
